Lauren Casey - Adult Carers Locality Lead
Tell us about your role in no more than two sentences.
I am a Carers Locality Lead for Littleborough- single point of contact for carers and professionals. I work with many professionals to support carers best such as nurses, link4life, veterans and adult care, I also work in a GP surgery. The aim of my role Is to identify hidden carers and offer them support with a person-centred approach.
What were you doing before you came into the care sector?
I have worked in education and studied Counselling and Psychotherapy, I also had many placements where I supported clients with their mental health and improved their health and well-being.
What would you say to someone thinking about a career in care?
I would make them aware of the impact a caring role can have on a carers life, and that there are highs and lows of working the in care sector. However I would point out in the career there is an opportunity to make a difference to a carers life, and there is no reward that compares to this.

Which three words would your friends would use to describe you?
Empathic, supportive and approachable
Where’s your favourite holiday destination and why?
I love Portugal, I visited often as a child and so I enjoy taking my son and watching him play on the beaches, of course the sun is a bonus for me!
What’s your favourite hobby/pastime?
I spend most of my time with my little boy visiting places and completing different activities such as the zoo’s and sea life centres. We also spend a large amount of time in parks playing and feeding the ducks. I do enjoy my music and will occasionally attend concerts.
