Martine Sizer - Quality & Compliance Officer
Area: Central team
Tell us about your role in no more than two sentences.
My job is to monitor the quality of our service, and present reports and stats. I write the newsletters, update our social media accounts and I also have the pleasure of collecting and monitoring any compliments that come in about the service and our staff, which is lovely.
What were you doing before you came into the care sector?
I had just finished my degree in Psychology BSc (hons.) at the University of Salford and was working at Old Trafford Football Club, in their staffing department. I joined to Crossroads Together on a 2 year graduate contract in 2008 and have been here ever since.
What would you say to someone thinking about a career in care
The job can challenging and may not be suited to everyone, but meeting and helping different people who really need it makes the job very rewarding. Crossroads Together is a good team and we will work with you to develop your confidence working out in the community.
What’s the best thing about working for Crossroads Together?
Which three words would your friends use to describe you?
Friendly, approachable and patient
Where’s your favourite holiday destination and why?
I have just come back from my honeymoon to Peru (trekking the Inca trail) and Brazil – it was a holiday of a lifetime and would love to go back there. The people we met were all friendly and welcoming and the landscape was breath-taking (sometimes literally at high altitude!).
What’s your favourite hobby/pastime?
I enjoy spending time with my friends, eating out, running, travelling, and walking in the countryside with my dog.
